When you visit Jen Kim Family & Cosmetic Dentistry with your child, Dr. Kim's first goal is always to make your child feel safe and relaxed in our dental office. Building trust between the dental team and your child is important to us, and that is always our first step when it comes to planning your child’s oral health path.
We will take some time to get to know your child, going out of our way to make their dental experience light-hearted and pleasant. Once we have earned your child’s confidence, we can work together—you, your child, and our dental team—to develop an oral health path that will provide excellent results.
Changing Dental Needs in Children
Each child has their own dental needs, and as they grow and change, their dental needs will also change. With that in mind, your child will receive personalized treatment from Dr. Kim during every visit.
Dr. Kim will carefully examine your child’s oral health at every dental appointment and will make recommendations for dental care and treatments during those appointments. The recommendations Dr. Kim makes will be customized for your child’s specific oral health needs at that time.
For example, if Dr. Kim notices that your child is developing cavities, we may recommend fluoride treatments or dental sealants. We may also change your child’s schedule for cleanings and exams based on their current oral health, making dental visits more frequent, if necessary.
We will also educate you and your child on the benefits of an excellent at-home oral hygiene routine, and we will teach your little one how to appropriately care for their teeth and gums at home.
Dr. Kim and our friendly dental team will discuss any changes to your child’s oral health with you as they arise, and we will create a customized plan for every issue, making sure your child receives the best care possible.
