How do I care for dental veneers?
Practice Good Hygiene for Long-Lasting Veneers
Dental veneers are nearly as strong as your natural teeth. As long as you practice good oral hygiene habits such as regular brushing and flossing and continue seeing us for your regular examinations and cleanings, your veneers should last for years.
To keep your veneers in great shape for even longer, don't smoke. Also, keep in mind that some beverages, including fruit juice, red wine, coffee, and tea, can cause staining. Don't bite or chew on anything that is not food including ice, fingernails, or pencils. These may chip your veneers or cause them to come loose.
Visit Our Office for Routine Maintenance
Continue to visit our Kirkland dental office for regular cleanings and examinations. While your veneers cannot develop cavities, the teeth beneath them can. During your cleanings and exams, Dr. Kim will check the condition of your veneers to make sure that they are in great shape. While veneers are designed to be durable and stain resistant, they can still become damaged, and we can help you keep them in good shape.
If your veneers do become damaged, call us right away so that we can check the veneer and see if it can be repaired or if it needs to be replaced. Ready to learn more about veneers? Call Kirkland dentist Dr. Jen Kim today!
